Safeguarding the Freshwater Supply

Monday January 24 by Claudia bourne
There's no denying that mankind has disrupted the complex natural systems that create and sustain life, including our water reserves.Water tables are falling on every continent. Many rivers, including the Colorado, have dried up to the extent that they no longer meet the sea. Our groundwater, lakes, and rivers are becoming increasingly polluted. As we experience climatic changes, including record-hot summers (with their accompanying wilted gardens), we should remind ourselves that per capita, Americans take a larger toll on the planet and its water resources than any other people on Earth.
